China accuses former vice environment minister of taking bribes

Chinese prosecutors denounced a previous delegate environment priest on Monday of taking 2.4 million yuan ($361,500) in influences as he stood trial for debasement in Beijing, state media reported.

The examination of Zhang Lijun, who served in his position between 2008-2013, started in July a year ago.

Prosecutors said Zhang gave assistance to venture endorsements and arrangements and took fixes worth around 2.4 million yuan, state news office Xinhua said in a brief report.
