"All the 18 individuals on board the smaller than usual transport are dead and blazed. A remotely controlled bomb along the street blasted," said Abidkadir Mohamed, a cop at the scene.
Nur Ahmed, who was driving along the same street, said the small scale transport was being escorted by a vehicle conveying troops.
An administration truck brimming with warriors took after by the minibus surpassed him at fast before he heard a noisy blast, Ahmed said.
"The administration auto which was presumably the objective got away undamaged," he said.
