Bangladesh army says 26 killed in Dhaka cafe, most by sharp weapons

The assault on a bistro in the Bangladeshi capital left 26 individuals dead including six furnished assailants, the Bangladesh armed force said on Saturday, most killed with sharp weapons.

Armed force Brigadier General Naim Asraf Chowdhury told a news meeting 13 individuals were saved including one Japanese and two Sri Lankans.

The armed force closed an operation to clear the bistro on Saturday following a 12-hour attack that started when shooters raged the eatery, which was well known with nonnatives, on Friday night.
