Four detainees at a jail in El Salvador were killed on Saturday in the midst of a battle between detainees, the national jail administration said by means of Twitter.
The detainees, individuals from the Barrio 18 posse, were executed in the office which is in the city of Quezaltepeque, 21 km (13 miles) northwest of the capital.
The lawyer general's office said that the loss of life could rise.
In August a year ago, 14 detainees were murdered in the jail, with powers saying it was a piece of a cleanse inside the same pack.
