There was no quick claim of obligation regarding the assault at 4 a.m. (0100 GMT) in the town of Qaa. Security sources said they trusted Islamic State was mindful.
The chairman of Qaa, Bashir Matar, told Voice of Lebanon radio that each one of those slaughtered were regular citizens.
The Lebanese armed force said four fighters were among the injured. They were a piece of a watch that had gone to the area of the primary impact. The first of the aircraft had exploded himself outside a house, trailed by the others in a connecting road.
The armed force had forced a security cordon in the region and was seeking the town and close-by ranges for suspects.
Lebanon has been over and again jarred by activist assaults connected to the five-year-long war in neighboring Syria, where the capable Shi'ite bunch Hezbollah is battling in backing of President Bashar al-Assad.
Security sources had before put the loss of life at six.
