France's Le Pen says people no longer want the EU

The European Union will bite the dust in light of the fact that the general population don't need it any longer, French far-right pioneer Marine Le Pen told a rally on Sunday, saying it would be supplanted by an "Europe of the general population."

"The European Union will bite the dust in light of the fact that the general population don't need it any longer," Le Pen said to uproarious acclaim.

"We will change for another Europe, the European thought hurt by the federalists will re-stimulate itself, re-empower itself in the Europe of the general population and of ... the countries."

Marine Le Pen, French National Front (FN) political party leader and candidate for French 2017 presidential election, waves to supporters at the end of a political rally in Lille, France, March 26, 2017.
